Ian Wallace, Landscape Architect
With 30 year’s international experience in New Zealand, United Kingdom, and Asia, you deal directly with Ian Wallace – Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Horticulture, NZTC Horticulture & Gardening. Studying towards – MA Town & Country Planning [Royal Town Planning Institute, UK].
Ian Wallace established Design Public Space Ltd in 2008 at Kaharoa, overlooking his olive grove, in the green hills of rural Bay of Plenty – practicing a style that evolves naturally out of context, most importantly for him the relationship between the site, the landscape and the needs of the client. A second base further south now has him inspired by the Rangitikei River terraces of artist Peter McIntyre.
Ian has an underlying respect for design history, tradition and style – he understands where landscape design came from, how to work with the landform, and how to create unique spaces, whilst respecting the surrounding environment.
